There are 3 primary forms of stress
(physical, chemical, emotional), and they all impact your nervous system.
- Physical stress may be as serious as a car
accident or a fall onto the pavement or as minor as repetitive microtrauma
(poor posture, repetitive motion, etc).
- Chemical stress is due to the types of foods
we eat, drugs we ingest, or toxins we absorb from our environment.
- Emotional stress can occur due to
relationships, workload, money, poor self-image, or many other
contributing factors.
Various
forms of stress can lead to defensive posture that may lead to spinal
adaptations affecting your nervous system and its ability to function
properly.
